SPORTING EVENTS



ING NY MARATHON



OBJECTIVE: Assemble and manage a team of experienced event managers and American Red Cross volunteers that will work in tandem to both encourage runners to finish the last part of the marathon as well as spot athletes in need of immediate medical assistance.


SOLUTION: Over the course of two weeks, I recruited, coordinated and managed over 100 staff and volunteers with help from the American Red Cross. The Red Cross provided detailed training to my team so that we would be equipped in cases of emergency on the course.


RESULTS: With fewer than 15 minor emergency situations, my team encouraged and led 47,107 participants-- the largest in the marathon's 42-year history, to successfully cross the finish line.



ROCK N ROLL MARATHON



The Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series is a collection of marathons in cities across the US and Europe known for lining race routes with live bands, cheerleaders and themed water stations.


OBJECTIVE: I was charged with coordinating the headliner stage at the finish line of the marathon. Grammy winning country music artist, Jo Dee Messina, was the headlining artist hired by the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon (The Competitor Group).


SOLUTION: I worked closely with the headliner’s production and management team, staying in constant contact to prevent any potential glitches and troubleshoot any issues. I worked side by side with Ms. Messina's team to negotiate and fulfill her riders and serve as liaison between The Competitor Group and Ms. Messina, communicating information and providing services pertaining to: Sound & Lighting, Production schedules, On-site stage management, Artist’s Ground transportation, Green room necessities, Meals/ Buyout, Artist and Vendor Accommodations In addition I was tasked with managing & advancing all entertainment for the event, executing all event logistics on-site for the event, serving as point of contact for the client, troubleshooting on-site issues and changes, and providing a detailed final report to the client at the conclusion of the event.


RESULT: The headlining artist's management and production teams were both extremely impressed with the ease of overall production and and general communication from my team. They specifically mentioned never having such an easy, stress-free show under the circumstances. The competitor group was also very pleased with the turnout, professionalism and over all production with which the headliner stage was managed.
