FLORAL DESIGN
In addition to event production, I have a passion for floral and event design. Growing up surrounded by Texas wildflowers and summers on the San Marcos River, simplicity and nature were a part of my daily life from a young age. Helping my mother work in the backyard garden was my first introduction to floristry and, little did I know, the beginning of my love affair with flowers.
As a freelance designer, I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with many gifted floral designers including Bows and Arrows in Dallas, The Byrd Collective, The Nouveau Romantics, Botanical No. 9 and Bird Dog Wedding. The style of each artist varies dramatically as do their clientele. Working with these artists provided me with a profound opportunity to sharpen my own skills, technique, and find my creative voice while continuously learning and gaining inspiration. My work for many of these artists and as a solo designer has been published in online and print publications such as Martha Stewart Weddings, Style Me Pretty, 100 Layer Cake and Love and Lavender.
These extraordinary experiences led me to explore my love and appreciation for design and to open my own small event and floral design company in order to serve a growing clientele of friends, family and referrals.
Whether it is creating a quick centerpiece from a few foraged flowers, photographing the sky after a daytime shower, stringing a necklace together from vintage beads or just digging in the garden, I am happiest when using her hands and mind on a creative project. She brings thoughtful design concepts and an innovative vision fused with meticulous organization and down-to-earth charm. I specialize in custom floral designs with an organic, just picked from the garden style for corporate events, personal and business interiors, styled shoots and everyday enjoyment. I create flower arrangements that reflect my affinity for simplicity, nature and uncommon goods; they are crafted from a diverse range of thoughtfully selected products- foraged, grown from local farms, and sourced from the best farms abroad. Drawing inspiration from the ephemeral flowers in Dutch still-life paintings and using a wild, romantic style my designs exude an emotional, organic, just picked from the garden feel.
